A shock absorber is a devise used to smooth out or dampen shock impulse,shock absorbers reduce the effect of traveling over rough ground, leading to improved ride quality and increase in comfort. While shock absorbers serve the purpose of limiting excessive suspension movement, their intended sole purpose is to dampen spring oscillations. Shocks on a car help to support it's weight.

stabilizer links and sway bar's on a car help to stabilize the car. They improve handling of the vehicle by preventing it from swaying or moving when the driver is turning. Also, it helps to absorb the car weight so that is does not bounce up and down too much. They also help to manage fuel efficiency of the vehicle. Without sway bars and stabilizer links, a driver could lose control of the vehicle and crash.
